AUSTIN, TEXAS (KXAN) — The juvenile seen slapping a Wendy’s employee in a video that went viral is now facing Class C misdemeanor charges, Austin Police report.
The assault by contact charge was filed Tuesday.
In the video, the boy can be seen walking up to the Wendy’s cashier and slapping her. He then jumps into a waiting car as it speeds off.
The Travis County District Attorney’s office says charges are not expected to be filed against the other individuals seen in the video.
Police first identified the suspects back in April.
KXAN spoke with the 16-year-old cashier after the incident who said she felt embarrassed about the situation.
