Son shot while defending mother from robbers

According to the Harris County Sheriff

It happened Tuesday night at the Taqueria inside the Gulf gas station just south of Farm to Market Road 1960 and Kuykendahl South.

HOUSTON, TEXAS (KPRC) - An attempted robbery ended in tragedy after a son was shot while trying to protect his mother in Northwest Harris County.

It happened Tuesday night at the Taqueria inside the Gulf gas station just south of Farm to Market Road 1960 and Kuykendahl South.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the victim went to the gas station in order to pick his mother up from work.

Suddenly, a car pulled up with four masked armed men inside. They jumped out of the car and went to rob the Taqueria.

That is when, police say, the victim ran and got between his mother and one of the masked men.

Witnesses say one of the robbers opened fire, shooting the victim with a shotgun.

The victim ran into parking lot, where he collapsed.

The culprits got away before police arrived.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
