Teacher shot and killed by her husband

MISSOURI CITY, TX (KPRC) - Missouri City Police say Stephanie Politte was in her bedroom when her husband, Daniel Politte, shot her in the head.

Investigators said that Daniel actually called 911 to report his wife was having a medical emergency Wednesday night at the home on Green Cottage Lane.

Stephanie, 29, was a special needs teacher at the Monarch Institute in Houston, and she was also an actress at several theaters in town include the Stage Door Inc. and Pearl Theater.

Investigators wouldn't speculate on a motive and said when the arrested Daniel at the home, he didn't say very much.

Neighbors who live in the typically quiet community are stunned.

The director of the Monarch Institute released a statement Thursday afternoon which read, "Stephanie Kirkpatrick Politte was a brilliant, loving, talented individual who made a difference in the lives of many children and families. This is a huge loss for our community and we are keeping her family in our thoughts and prayers."

The Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office says Daniel Politte is in custody charged with murder and bond was set at $125,000.
