Teen girls arrested for using stolen credit card

HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO) - Two women arrested for making unauthorized purchases from a credit card are additional charged with the theft of two 18 packs of beer.

Back on October 4, 2013 a man filed a credit/debit card abuse report after several unauthorized transactions were made when he inadvertently left his credit card at a local Burger King restaurant.

The purchases made on the card totaled over $500 and through the investigation detectives identified Julie Ann Sotelo, 18, and Sandra Leal, 19, as the suspects and they were arrested and arraigned on Friday, April 25th and taken to jail.

On Thursday, April 17th a clerk at the 7-11 convenience store called police to make a theft report by two women.

It was reported that women entered the store selected two 18 packs of beer and ran out the door without paying for the merchandise and fled in a small truck.

Through surveillance video, the women were identified as Sotelo and Leal and while both were in jail they were additional charged with the theft.

Sotelo was handed a $5,000 bond and Leal a $15,000 bond and both were fined $566 on the theft charge.
