Teen gives cop a parking ticket

Improper parking leads to an officer having to deal with a fine.

Jones required King to pay $10 to the apartment manager. Instead, he gave her a $40 gift certificate to Toys 'R Us.

BAYTOWN, TX (KPRC) - A Baytown, Texas, teen saw the way Officer Tommy King parked in front of her apartment complex and didn't like it.

"He was parked on the side of the building. It said it was a fire lane all the way around," said Annie Jones, 14. So she wrote him a ticket.

"I came to get my car and I saw a piece of paper on my windshield. I took it off, read it and started laughing immediately," King said.

Jones required King to pay $10 to the apartment manager. Instead, he gave her a $40 gift certificate to Toys 'R Us.

"I have a new friend. I think the lesson is not to be afraid of law enforcement, we're here to help," he said.
