Thousands gather in Mexico City to raise awareness for those who have gone missing in the violence-plagued nation.
Protesters chanted and carried photos of their loved ones as they marched from the Pillar of Light monument to the Mexican senate. More than 22,000 people had been reported missing since the country launched its war against drug traffickers in 2006.
Government officials estimated that the majority of kidnappings were never reported, and that the actual number of those who disappeared is probably more than 100,000.
