Two boys hospitalized in head-on collision

Police are trying to figure out why the driver of an SUV apparently blacked out, causing a head-on collision and leaving two children seriously hurt.

Two boys are were taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital with serious leg and facial injuries.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KRIS) - Police are trying to figure out why the driver of an SUV apparently blacked out, causing a head-on collision and leaving two children seriously hurt.

Officers say the driver of the red Explorer was heading North on Staples late last night, when he veered into the Southbound lanes hitting a dark colored mini-van at Ohio Street.

There were 2 adults and 4 children inside that minivan.

Two boys are were taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital with serious leg and facial injuries.

Tests will be conducted on the driver of the Explorer, as Police try to determine what caused him to black out.
