Woman fakes seizure, arrested for possession and public intoxication

Both people displayed red blood shot eyes, had an odor of alcohol, slurred speech and determined to be a danger to themselves or others.

HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO) - Harlingen police arrested a couple for possession of a controlled substance after officers were called in regards to a disturbance.

On Wednesday, March 19th, at approximately 4 a.m. police were called to the 200 block of N. Expressway 77.

When the officer arrived to the location he found a woman lying on the ground convulsing and the man informing him that the woman was having a seizure.

EMS was called to the scene and it was determined that the woman was fine and was not having a seizure.

The man, identified as Humberto Arredondo Jr., 22, stated that he and the woman, Claudia Blanco, 20, had a verbal argument and as he walked away Blanco chased after him and had a seizure.

Both Arredondo and Blanco displayed red blood shot eyes, had an odor of alcohol, slurred speech and determined to be a danger to themselves or others.

The officer arrested both for public intoxication and while being processed at jail both were found in possession of a controlled substance and additional charged.

Arredondo Jr. was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and handed a $28,000 bond while Blanco was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication and handed a $21,000 bond.
