Woman steals 6 cases of beer

A Richmond police officer then spotted a vehicle matching the description of Dixon

RICHMOND, TX (KPRC) - A woman was arrested for allegedly holding up a Richmond convenience store and stealing six cases of beer.

It happened shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday at a Valero corner store located at 207 Highway 90A.

Investigators said Valerie Dixon, 44, walked into the store and held what appeared to be a weapon to the clerk's back.

Investigators said Dixon told the clerk to go into the back room, but instead the clerk went to the register and called started to call police.

While that was happening, Dixon allegedly grabbed three cases of beer. After putting those cases into her car, police said Dixon walked back into the store and grabbed three more cases before leaving.

Shortly after that, a Richmond police officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of Dixon's not far from the store.

The officer said as he was speaking to Dixon, she grabbed a beer from the backseat and started drinking it.

Dixon was arrested and charged with robbery. She was taken to the Fort Bend County jail.
