With the Heartland Conference softball tournament kicking off the league announced their postseason awards and four TAMIU Dustdevils brought home honors. Middle infielder Brenda Parrin was a rock for TAMIU and she named Freshman of the Year and to the all conference 1st team. Joining her on that list is senior outfielder Esmerelda Gonzalez. A pair of Dustdevils made the 2nd team as infielder Cassie De Leon and pitcher Kyndall Reaves made the cut. TAMIU kicked off the conference tournament this afternoon and got blitzed by St Edwards, losing 9-0. The Dustdevils will now face UT-Permian Basin in a loser out game Friday at two.
