The Laredo Community College volleyball team will take the court for practice next week but will do so with out a permanent head coach. Long time coach Binny Canales has taken a similar job at Western Nebraska Community College. Canales served as the Palominos head coach for a total of 21 years over two different stints. In his original time at LCC the coach led the school to back to back 30 win seasons, including a #2 ranking in the nation. He would leave LCC for the head coaching position at TAMIU, where he led the Dustdevils during the first three years of their program. Canales returned to the Palominos in 2006, helping LCC return to prominence. This past season he guided LCC to a 19-7 record with two of those victories coming over Blinn College, the #1 team in the country.
