LCC introduces a pair of new head coaches for the soccer and softball programs starting next school year.
It was a fun day for the Laredo Community College athletic department as the Palominos introduced not one but two new head coaches today. The school is starting up a mens soccer team as well as a womens softball team with the upcoming school year. In soccer it's a familiar face to Laredo as former Heat standout Juan de Dios Ibarra will be at the reigns. He is excited about getting as many local players into the program as possible.
For softball, a coach with a vast track record at bigger schools is coming into lead the Palominos. Kristy Lansford has had stops at both the NCAA division one and two levels before taking over at LCC. For her the idea of being able to have a more hands on approach to coaching is one of the reasons she decided to come to the gateway city.
Both teams have said they will have open tryouts for players interested in playing for LCC in the near future. We will have that information for you as soon as the school releases it.
