Porter Leaving TAMIU Baseball

Change will be coming to the TAMIU baseball team next spring as head coach Chad Porter will not return to the Dustdevils.  Porter has taken a job as Athletic Director for his alma mater of Ohio Valley University in West Virginia.

After six seasons as TAMIU baseball coach, Chad Porter has accepted the Athletic Director position at Ohio Valley University.

Porter has taken a job as Athletic Director for his alma mater of Ohio Valley University in West Virginia. TAMIU baseball struggled this season going 16-34 overall including an 8-22 mark in Heartland Conference play. The season came on the heels of the teams first ever winning year since moving to Division II, with an appearance in the conference tournament. Porter has spent the last six seasons at the helm of TAMIU baseball, complying 124 wins and 189 loses. In a release earlier today TAMIU says they will begin a search for the next coach immediately especially after signing five new recruits earlier this week.
