Its was a day of celebration at TAMIU as both the men's and women's basketball teams were recognized by the school and mayor Salinas. Each of the squads had record breaking seasons, the men setting the all time mark at the school for wins in a row and wins in a season. While the women brought home their first ever Heartland Conference championship and each made the NCAA tourney for the first time. For each team having the mayor in attendance was a big honor.
The two teams will now start the process of replacing those seniors that are moving on. The men will be losing six seniors from this years squad while the women have three.
