Friday night was a rough one for the TAMIU women's basketball team as they lost in the opening game of the Heartland Conference tournament. The Dustdevils were hanging on the hopes of earning an at large bid to the NCAA Division 2 tournament and joined together last night to learn their fate.
As you can see the women were a little excited when their name was called to face Tarleton State this Saturday in Canyon Texas. The tournament is a first for a womens program that also set team history with the regular season conference championship. Today at practice the women were still having a difficult time putting into words the emotion of that moment of seeing their name on the bracket.
The Dustdevil women will take on Tarleton State in the opening round of the regional tournament. That game will be Friday in Canyon Texas.
