The Bruni Badgers have been one of the most successful teams in south Texas over the past few seasons. Their district titles and trips to the playoffs has made the Badgers a team to beat. But with a whole new coaching staff, can Bruni continue their success? KGNS sports reporter Valerie Bragg gives us a look at the badgers.
While most teams try to avoid the heat, the Badgers embrace it. It's three in the afternoon and the Badgers are out at practice. They do it without the senior leadership they may be used to. Homer Maldonado will be the new Bruni quarterback this season. While the Badgers have a running mentality, you can expect some more passes this season. The team may be young and learning a whole new playbook, but the Badgers defensive end and tight end Nicholas Smith says they are adjusting comfortably.
Bruni biggest district competition appears to be Woodsboro this season. Watch out for that game on October 24th.
