After a stellar career at United High School, Derek Esparza will take his skills to the college level as he signed his National Letter of Intent this morning. Flanked by his parents, the three sport star for the Longhorns signed his letter to play football at Cisco Junior College. Esparza was the captain and quarterback of a United team that went 10-3 this season including an undefeated district slate and a run into the 3rd round of the playoffs. The all-district QB talked to us about why he chose Cisco College and just how eager he is to get his college career going. Esparza will take over as the starting quarterback for the Wranglers football team and is planning to study criminal justice.
