Let the countdown begin for the start of the high school football season. We are now only a week away before some teams start training for the 2014 season.
Three Laredo teams did not participate in spring football; therefore, they get to open up their season a week early. From UISD, LBJ will open up their season next Monday, August 4. The Wolves looking to rebound after a 1-9 season last year.
Two LISD teams will also open up next week. The Cigarroa Toros have shown improvement the past two seasons under coach Jesse Esparza. The Martin Tigers will also begin on August 4. The Tigers are coming off a historical year, winning their first playoff game in school history in 2013. The rest of the teams will open up training on August 11.
