With only one game to play, the Nixon girls soccer team is on the verge of history but they will have to get past an old foe to get there. One season ago the Mustangs made a run at the playoffs but were turned away by Tuloso-Midway. This year the situation is a very similar one. Nixon needs a win or tie over the Cherokees tomorrow night to earn only their second ever playoff spot. For Carla Cortez and Yadira Lara, the idea of knocking off Tuloso to make the postseason seems like a perfect ending to the regular season. The Mustangs will take on the Cherokees Tuesday at 7:30 on the turf of Memorial Field.
