South Powerlifters back in the gym after winning state titles, getting ready for nationals this weekend.
It was a great weekend for a pair of United South Panthers, bringing home state titles in the sport of power-lifting. Both Jonathon Pena and Rudy Flores were back in the gym this afternoon after leading south to a 3rd place team finish and individual state championships. Flores was good enough to even set the state record in the squat with an 840 pound lift. Both guys were excited to bring those medals home and see all their hard work in practice pay off.
Both these young men are off to nationals this weekend in Killeen, Texas. Flores is looking to lift over two thousand pounds between the bench press, squat and deadlift.
