Posted: 03/28/2014 - It was a great day for a United South junior varsity power-lifter as Carlos Sanchez III wins nationals for the 125 kilogram weight class. Sanchez lifted a combined total of 1,516.7 lbs in the bench press, squat and dead-lift. He also set the high school JV record with a squat of 632.5 lbs.

They'd get on the board thanks to an inside-the-park home run from Tania Castro, one of two on the night for her, but it wasn't enough as LBJ is ten-runned by district leader Eagle Pass 14-4.

Posted: 03/28/2014 - It was all Alexander Friday night as they took on district rival LBJ. Alan Campero had the Wolves on their heels all night long at the plate, holding LBJ to a single hit over five innings. The Bulldog bats got out to a 5-0 lead after a single inning, and continued to add to the lead, eventually winning 10-0 in five innings.

Cigarroa Boys Dominate in Area Round

Posted: 03/28/2014 - From the opening kickoff of Fridays Area game between Cigarroa and Pleasanton, it was clear the Toros were the better team and they proved it. Cigarroa dominated the time of possession, repeatedly peppering the goal with shots. The Toros would take a quick 1-0 lead and never look back on their way to an 8-0 win in the Area round.

Posted: 03/26/2014 - It was a big day for the three Laredo ISD boys soccer teams Tuesday night as they all picked up victories in Bi-District round of the UIL playoffs. Both Nixon and Cigarroa not only needed overtime but penalty kicks to advance but both would prevail in the opening round games. Meanwhile the Martin boys came up with a shutout of Rockport-Fullton 2-0 being the final in their game.

Posted: 03/25/2014 - It was Nixon and Gregory Portland on the Shirley Field pitch Tuesday night in the UIL Bi-District playoffs. The Mustangs and Wildcats played to a 0-0 tie after regulation and overtime. Into penalty kicks they went and it was the Mustangs that come out on top 3-2, moving on to the Area round. They will not be alone though, as Martin wins 2-0 and the Toros have a thrilling win in PK's 7-6.
