The Heat wasn't going to let this year be the first they failed to make the playoffs.

Heading into their last regular season game, the Heat needed to win against Houston, or their season would end. After an 'own' goal that put them down, 1-0, the Heat put in the equalizer two minutes later off a penalty.

The Heat then put in another in 52nd minute, then one more in the 73rd to win against the Houston Dutch Lions, 3-1. The win sends the Heat back to the post season for their tenth straight year.

Laredo will now play the Ocala Stampede, the same team they beat last year in the first round of the playoffs. The first round game will be played next Saturday in Austin. Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m.
