Pair of Heat Players Honored by PDL

The Laredo Heat are still riding high off their victory Wednesday night over the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers and now the Premiere Development League has recognized a pair of their players.

The Laredo Heat are still riding high off their victory Wednesday night over the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers and now the Premiere Development League has recognized a pair of their players. Goalkeeper Jorge Ortega and striker Miguel Fernandez were both tabbed as honorable mentions on this weeks PDL “Team of the Week.” Ortega went 1-1 for the week picking, up a shutout on the Sockers while giving up only a single goal against Houston on Saturday. Fernandez put in a goal on his only shot of the game against West Texas helping pace the Heat to victory.

Laredo will be back in PDL play tomorrow night as they host Albuquerque at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. The Heat will play in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against the MLS's Houston Dynamo on June 11th.
