Press conference to announce first United Way Restaurant Week Event
August 15 at 10:30 a.m.
McDonald’s Restaurant located at 2515 Jacaman Road (in the meeting room)
From September 1 through 6, several restaurants will host special dine-in events and donate a portion of the proceeds to help agencies of the United Way of Laredo. This year, these restaurants will include: McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Chick-fil-a, Popeyes, and Domino’s Pizza. More information and details to be announced at the press conference.

Special Olympics Texas' Polar Plunge
City of Laredo Parks and Leisure (Inner City Pool)
LAREDO- The temperatures are getting warmer, but this doesn't stop Special Olympics Texas from taking a Polar Plunge!
The event is coming up on Friday, March 7th, at the City of Laredo Parks and Leisure Inner City Pool. This is a frosty event that allows people to jump into icy cold water to help raise funds for the SOTX athletes. There will be an awards ceremony for Most Money Raised by an Individual, and Best Costume.
Registration for the event is the morning of March 7th at 9:30, with the first plunge beginning at 10:00. The event fee is $60 for adults and $30 for kids.
