United ISD To Hold Ground Breaking for New United South High School 9th Grade Campus

Some features about our campus to be:

The new United South High School 9th Grade Campus will be a standalone two-story building with a detached FFA (Future Farmers of America-Agriculture Program). The total square footage for the area will be about 200,000 square feet and will support 1,200 students. The facility will have thirty classrooms, six science lecture labs with three shared prep rooms, two Special Education classrooms, six Business Information Magnet (BIM) Labs, and an Introduction to Career Technical Education Magnet Lab. The fine arts program will have two art labs and a dance studio, while athletics and P.E. will share competition and practice gyms with access to outdoor sport fields. The campus will feature a 600 capacity cafeteria with indoor and outdoor dining areas, and two student common areas within the academic wings, with natural daylight, and a Library. Security for the campus will start at the perimeter with a Guardhouse, followed by a secure vestibule. Four stair wells and an elevator will connect the two floors of the building. The building will be full masonry veneer. The HVAC system will be a cooled Chiller and the parking lot will accommodate 250 vehicles.

The ground breaking ceremony for elementary school #27 represents the first of several (new campus) construction projects that are scheduled for completion during Phase 1 of the Districts’ Building United project. Additional Phase 1 projects include the construction of four 9th grade campuses and a middle school campus over the next two years.

Groundbreaking of Encinal City Hall

On Monday, March 10th, Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) will join the Mayor of Encinal, Sylvano Sanchez, the City Manager, Velma Davila, the La Salle County Judge, Joel Rodriguez, and the Director of the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Paco Valentin, for the groundbreaking of the new Encinal City Hall.

Congressman Cuellar will provide brief remarks and will be available for media questions before and after the event.
