Laredo Zombie Walk
French Quarter through Del Mar Blvd.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, Quick Turtle Production’s Laredo Zombie Walk will be featured, for the second time, at The Bazaar Laredo, held at the French Quarter through Del Mar Blvd. This year’s zombies will once again walk around the French Quarter while this amazing event is taking place. During the Walk, different artists will be having their artwork for sale.
Participants will need to contribute canned food in order to participate. Donations will go out to a local food bank. Walkers are encouraged to already come to the event zombiefied, especially since this year prizes will be given out to the best looking Zombie courtesy of Pizza Ricco and Marble Slab Creamery. TAMIU’S Artisans at a first come first serve basis will provide make up to those who donate three cans of food at the event. Clothing donations will also be accepted.
“I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for five years! We wait all year for this. I want to thank the public for the support and participation and encourage the public to come out again. Support the cause as well as support our local artists,” said Beatriz Ceja of Quick Turtle Productions.
The Bazaar and the Zombie Walk is open to the public and is fun for the whole family. Join fellow Laredo zombies as they wander through The Bazaar.
The Bazaar will open from 4pm-9pm. Donations will be accepted at 4pm and Walk will begin at 7pm. The Cold Brew will host the official after party for Zombies 21 and older.
Zombie Walks occur nationwide and for 5 years this October Laredo will once again join many of the cities being infected with the zombie disease. In 2010, Beatriz Ceja, from Quickturtle Production made Laredo the fifth city in Texas to join in the Zombie events. Five years later the walks keep growing larger and larger.
The Bazaar is a monthly event where you can find all types of handmade artwork, jewelry, and novelties.
