LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - UPDATE: According to the AEP Texas website, most power outages in the city have been resolved.

AEP confirmed that the cause of the outages were due to a line fuse.

Below is the original text to this story:

The AEP Texas website is reporting over 1,400 homes without power as of 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The map shows most of the outages are taking place in the Mines Road Area in northwest Laredo in the Rancho Viejo neighborhood.

In a statement from AEP, they say:

“AEP Texas crews are responding to an outage that left approximately 1,000 Laredo residents without power in the Mines Road area. The initial estimated restoration time is projected for 8 p.m.

However, this could change. The cause of the outage is not known at the moment.”
