(Gray News) - The Amber Alert that was issued for two 6-year-old girls who were allegedly abducted Tuesday by a biological parent in Virginia has been canceled.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday morning the children were found safe.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the parental abduction was initially reported at Stafford Elementary School.
The two children were allegedly picked up from school by 32-year-old Rose Lecretia Gregg despite there being an active protective order, the sheriff’s office said.
The school was reportedly not aware of the protective order.
The sheriff’s office did not immediately say where the two children were found, but Gregg was taken into custody.
She was wanted for two counts of parental abduction.
