LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) -Fall is around the corner, but we are not seeing much of a relief from the heat. Hot and humid conditions persist, highs in the 90s along the coast to around 101 out west. Increased moisture today will allow for heat index values to climb into the 110-114 range this afternoon. Therefore, a Heat advisory is in effect for Corpus Christi and Kingsville. Heat index values from 105-109 can be expected outside of the Advisory area. Overnight warm and muggy expected to reach a low of 79 with breezy conditions. Saturday marks the start of fall season, equal days (12hrs. of daylight) and equal nights(12 hrs. of darkness).Hot and humid conditions persist this weekend , with a few locations under a heat advisory. It’s too early to tell but weather models are indicating an approaching cold front, the strength and position play a major role in the precipitation chances for Monday through Wednesday. This could also bring cloudy skies, possibly northerly winds and highs in the mid to low 90s for next week. Have a great weekend and stay weather aware.
