Nixon Mustangs hope to keep momentum going

LAREDO, Tx (KGNS) - The Nixon Mustangs seem to be on track to winning the LISD Legacy Cup and maybe a district title.

The Mustangs are on a three-game winning streak and Nixon is eyeing that championship.

Coach Cabello said his team is keeping the momentum going each week.

“It’s amazing it’s a hunger and I believe it’s my opinion that once they taste that victory and now, we have a win streak now the boys want it even more,” said Benny Cabello. “The standard is to excel. Ultimately the boys’ goal is to make a playoff run, a deep playoff run so we’re just earning the right to be champions that’s all we’re doing.”

The Mustangs have two games remaining in the season and are hoping to continue their winning streak.

Their final game is in two weeks as they host the Martin Tigers in a game that will ultimately decide the winner of the LISD Legacy Cup.
