Assistant News Director
Alex’s love for broadcasting began over 10 years when she first landed on the radio. Her first gig was as a co-host for a local morning show and later had her own show during the afternoons and weekends on 99.3FM.
She slowly transitioned into the world of TV news in late 2012. She climbed up the news ladder first as the assignment editor, then as assignment manager, as well as reporter and occasionally filled in as producer at KGNS.
Alex left the border for central Texas and became the Killeen bureau chief for Waco's KWTX and continued as a multimedia journalist, covering hard news as well as stories that touched all our hearts.
She is now the assistant news director at KGNS/Telemundo but still loves covering local stories, so you’ll see her once in a while out in the field.
Alex loves meeting new journalists who are inspired to make a difference and tell our community's stories. She has had the pleasure of meeting newscasters who have been in the industry for decades. She believes in sharing stories of people who make an impact in the community. If you would like to share your story through email, Alex would love to hear from you.
