A former San Antonio Spurs Player took center stage Thursday evening to help support an organization that helps Laredo-area children.

According to Laredo Main Street, out of 300 buildings, more than half are occupied at some capacity while a third are fully vacant.

Commissioners say the high risk of wildfires contributed to their decision.

The county is seeing an increase in deaths due to the sweltering weather conditions.
