LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- Assistant Chief Jesus Torres retires from the Laredo Police Department after 37 years serving the Gateway City.
Torres began his career as a patrolman in 1981 and worked his way up the ranks.
He served an investigator, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and in 2009 was promoted to Assistant Police Chief.
Torres says that after so many years of service, its time now time to serve his family full time.
Up until his retirement, Chief Torres was the longest tenured and oldest member of the Laredo Police Department.
