FREER, TX (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents seized an unusually large amount of cash during a routine inspection.
According to Border Patrol, the incident happened on October 9th at the Freer checkpoint when agents encountered a white Dodge Ram at the primary inspection.
The driver, a United States Citizen was referred to secondary inspection after a canine alerted to the presence of narcotics.
When agents searched the truck, they found $12,000 of cash concealed inside a bag hidden underneath the flooring.
Agents also found marijuana residue in the center console of the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and the case was turned over to the DEA.
