Border Patrol agents discover immigrant stash house

The Laredo Sector Border Patrol rescued 56 undocumented immigrants from an alleged immigrant stash house in south Laredo.

According to Border Patrol on April 19th, agents were called out to assist Homeland Security and the Laredo Police Department with suspicious activity going on at a residence on San Luis Street.

When they arrived at the residence, officials found 56 undocumented immigrants which included men, women and children inside the home.

The individuals were determined to be from Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras.

All subjects were processed accordingly.

Laredo Sector Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta says, “The partnerships in Laredo between the United States Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations and the Laredo Police Department continue to show results in disrupting criminal organizations from operating in South Texas. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to prosecute those responsible and prevent individuals from being subjected to deplorable conditions,”

The case was turned over to Homeland Security.
