Border Patrol agents foil alleged human smuggling attempt near Hebbronville

HEBBRONVILLE, TX (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents foiled an alleged human smuggling attempt near Hebbronville.

According to Border Patrol, the incident happened on June 25th near Agua Nueva, Texas.

Agents attempted to conduct a traffic stop on FM Road 1017; however, the driver kept driving and eventually crashed into a tree, leaving the vehicle inoperable.

The occupants got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.
Border Patrol were able to apprehend six undocumented immigrants in the area.

The immigrants were found to be in good health and determined to be from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Six suspects were arrested for their involvement in the alleged smuggling attempt.

Laredo Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good says, “The vigilance of the men and women of the United States Border Patrol in disrupting this human smuggling attempt attests to our commitment in keeping America and its communities safe”

All of the subjects were transported to the Hebbronville Border Patrol for processing.
