Border Patrol agents rescue two undocumented immigrants during smuggling attempt

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - The Laredo Sector Border Patrol has been hard at work at cracking down on illegal smuggling operations at our border.

On June 27th Border Patrol agents at the Freer Station rescued two undocumented immigrants during an alleged smuggling attempt.

Agents say they encountered a 2009 Toyota Camry at the Highway 59 checkpoint and referred the driver to secondary inspection.

Upon inspection, agents found two undocumented immigrants hidden inside the trunk.

The immigrants were found to be in good health and were identified as being from Mexico and Honduras.

The driver, a United States Citizen was arrested and the vehicle was seized by Border Patrol.

Laredo Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good says, “The vigilance of the men and women of the United States Border Patrol in disrupting this human smuggling attempt attests to our commitment in keeping America and it’s communities safe.”

All subjects were processed accordingly.
