LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents seized over two million dollars worth of illegal narcotics at a local checkpoint over the weekend.
The incident happened on Sunday night when agents encountered a tractor pulling a flatbed at the primary inspection lane.
While the driver was being questioned, a K-9 alerted to the presence of concealed narcotics.
When agents searched the vehicle, they found a total of 116 bundles of marijuana.
The drugs weighed about 2,981 pounds and had an estimated street value of $2.3 million dollars.
The narcotics and the vehicle were turned over to the DEA.
