LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents of the Laredo Sector seized close to two million dollars’ worth of marijuana during three separate actions.
According to Border Patrol on March 9th, agents attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a gray Ford F-150 pick-up truck.
When agents attempted to stop the truck the individuals got out of the truck and fled the scene.
Agents found several bundles of marijuana in the bed of the truck.
The marijuana had an estimated street value of $309,040. No arrests were made in the case.
The second incident happened near Hebbronville when agents encountered a white Dodge Ram utility truck on Farm to Market Road. When agents searched the vehicle they found several bundles of marijuana which weighed 1,782 pounds.
The marijuana had an estimated street value of $1,382,563.20.
The driver, a U.S. citizen was arrested in the case.
The third incident happened on March 11th when agents were called out to suspicious activity near Riverside Drive. When agents approached the area they found five bundles marijuana abandoned in the brush.
The marijuana weighed 370.7 pounds and had an estimated street value of $300,560.00.
The marijuana combined from all three cases has an estimated street value of $1,992,163.
No arrests were made in the case and the marijuana in all three cases was turned over to the DEA.
