LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized seven pounds of illegal narcotics at a Laredo port of entry.
According to CBP the incident happened on August 5th at the Lincoln Juarez Bridge when officers encountered a 1994 Ford Lightning at the primary inspection lane.
The vehicle was driven by a 22-year-old man identified as a United States Citizen.
When agents searched the vehicle, a canine found three packages of heroin hidden inside the vehicle.
The drugs weighed about seven pounds and had an estimated street value of $159,000.
CBP seized the narcotics and the vehicle; meanwhile, the driver was turned over to Homeland Security.
