LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- Commissioners Court agrees to designate the former youth village as a facility for the proposed detox center.
City of Laredo elected officials, the Health Department director, and members of the Drug and Alcohol Commission spoke with Commissioners about their vision for the center and asked for their help in accomplishing this.
The court agreed to the need for a facility that would offer transitional, triage, and detox services.
The former youth village, where the detox center is being designated, currently houses service like the Drug Court Program and Veterans Treatment Program.
It was proposed to continue housing those program there and then add the detox center.
Moving forward the County, City, and Drug and Alcohol Commission will work on a design plan, and search for funding.
