LAREDO,Texas(KGNS)- CBP officers at a Laredo port of entry recently seized a large amount of narcotics worth more than $364 thousand.
The seizure occurred on Thursday, June 14, when a CBP officer at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge referred a 2009 Chevy Aveo for a secondary inspection.
The vehichle was driven by a 28-year-old male Mexican citizen who resides in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Upon physical inspection, a total of 19 packages containing 47 pounds of alleged cocaine were discovered within the vehicle.
The narcotics have an estimated street value of $364,140.
CBP seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The driver was arrested and the case was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
