Canadian National arrested for attempting to bring handgun on plane

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A Canadian National is arrested by Border Patrol after he allegedly attempted to board a plane with a firearm.

According to Border Patrol, the incident happened on December 1st when Laredo Airport Police officers arrested a man from Canada for attempting to board a plane with a handgun.

Officers with the Transportation Security Administration say they found the handgun in the man’s carry-on luggage.

When agents ran the man’s information it was revealed that the subject was out of status due to having an expired visa.

Border Patrol agents took the man into custody and the handgun was seized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
