DALLAS, TX (CNN) - The Catholic Diocese of Dallas is addressing the issue of child abuse directly.
The city’s Bishop, Edward Burns says five major steps are being taken to develop a more safe community within the religion.
As a result, four town halls are scheduled, including one on Tuesday night at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Burns says the Dallas Diocese says it will talk to parishioners to determine how effective its program is working.
All priests and parishes are also being encouraged to pray the Rosary before mass this month for the victims.
Burns also says anyone suffering from abuse should contact the authorities.
