LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Many local students continue to head back to the classroom for another year of learning.
On Monday, LISD students got up bright and early with their backpacks in hand ready to start school and now it’s all about the Diocese of Laredo.
There were many mixed feelings on Tuesday morning for students over at Mary Help of Christian School who are stepping into another year of faith and scholastics.
Eighth-grade class president Anacecy Chavez who has her sights set on making it a good year, says she is looking forward to working with all her classmates to make this their best year because it’s their last.
Before the school welcomed back students, Mary Help Principal Sister Vuong gathered teachers for a unique start-up to the day.
The Diocese of Laredo is expecting 1,600 students to their Catholic schools which is a little less than last year but over at Mary Help, they are welcoming over 400 students.
Catholic schools is still accepting registration and even provide tuition assistance.
