LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - LISD officials have reached an agreement with staff from one high school over alleged abuse by their school principal.

During last week’s LISD Board meeting, Teacher Union Representative Rene De La Vina addressed concerns about Cigarroa High School Principal Laura Flores.

According to De La Vina, several grievances had been filed by staff complaining that Flores curses at them and uses extreme profanity.

During last week’s meeting, De La Vina threatened to release a recording of an encounter with the principal to the media if Flores did not resign.

LISD officials say they have reached an agreement between the union and the principal.

Veronica Castillon with LISD says, “Both parties met earlier this week and a resolution satisfactory to both parties was reached. We value both employees at LISD they are both wonderful professionals.”

District officials say the details of the agreement will remain confidential.
