LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A local student at Cigarroa High School is making a name for herself in the world of science.
Esther Morales was declared the 2019 Grand Champion winner of the Laredo Independent School District Science Fair.
Morales is now set to take her award-winning science project titled "Ultrasonic Behaviors" to the next level of competition in Arizona over at the world's largest pre-college science competition, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
While in Phoenix, Morales will meet over 1,700 high school students from around the world and showcase her individual project and independent research.
Students there will compete for over five million dollars in prizes and scholarships.
