The City of Laredo has approved the minimum wage increase for city employees to $10 an hour.
This means that those who work at the minimum of $8.30 an hour will now be bumped to $10 an hour.
City Council also took action on a cost of living increase of two percent.
Employees would receive that two percent and then if pay is still less than $10 an hour, it will be adjusted accordingly.
The increase will take effect in the new budget year which is October fist.
