(CNN) - The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is advising people not to wash or reuse condoms.
According to reports, people have been reusing condoms when the have sex.
The organization urges men and women to use fresh protection each time they engage in coitus.
They also note that it’s important to use a new condom for each new sex act performed.
The CDC issued a message on Twitter for both men and woman who may opt to use a dental dam instead of a traditional condom.
Experts say incorrect usage of a condom can impact its ability to reduce the risk of STD’s as well as its ability to prevent pregnancy.
