Commissioners in El Paso County say they do not want the president’s border wall in their community.

Commissioners passed a resolution on Monday that calls the wall unnecessary and suggests improvements in immigration laws instead.

Judge Ruben John Vogt supports the measure.

Andrew Haggerty was the only commissioner to vote against it.

El Paso already has a barrier on the border with Mexico. The structure that will replace it will be 18 feet tall.
